You're the rainbow after the rain
Beaming generously, humming like a cure
When the coffee's too bitter, you're the sugar
Stirring their doubt into a burst of perfection.
You're the one- who makes them look up
Make the positive side float and the negative drown
A smiling lullaby, filled with warmth and courage
Reassuring the frowns that they should be upside down.
You taught them that skin is not the solution
To love, to friendship, to a meaningful life
Within a novel, you did, Sharon Flake
Teach them that there's more than just an old looking book.
You're the mouth of a cave, an open embrace
An innocent tiger, laughing like bells
You're the reason for my smiling, the reason for my crying
You really are- a true "brown beauty".
